Bombflower, Double Feature, Ez Kebage, Super Roar release shows on Saturday

Phil Collins - September 30, 2016

Three solid local release shows are set for this Saturday. Time to get out there and take in some new Chicago-area punk tunes.

Bombflower releases their second album, Sweeteater at the Fallout in Chicago. Their first ska punk full-length, Organic Mood Elevators, made Change the Rotation's best albums of the year bracket last year. This is definitely an anticipated follow-up from the Waukegan punks. Bombflower will also be shooting a video at this show, so get camera ready. Alley Slob Service, UGLYBoNES, The Land Before Tim, Bad Timing, Switch Comb and Phase Order also play the release show. More information here. Listen to the first taste of the new album, the instrumental track "Bitch N' Dub," below.

Double Feature and Ez Kebage release a split 7-inch at the Burlington. Both bands are local to Chicago and play some catchy pop punk. Ez Kebage last released The Return of the Living Dinner EP in May. Double Feature released their self-titled album last November. They also recently shot a music video at Logan Arcade, check that out here. The C-Sides open the show on Saturday, more information on that here.

Local label Bernice Records and Tapes has a comp coming out for Cassette Store Day on October 8, but you can get it early at the release show this Saturday at the Auxiliary Art Center. BLOOM, Daymaker, Soddy Daisy and So Pretty play the release show. Super Roar volume one features 18 Chicago bands, including the four bands playing the show. Swimsuit Addition, Strawberry Jacuzzi, Bad Bad Meow, Post Child, Bleach Party and more also appear on the tape. More information on the show here. Stream Super Roar volume one below.
