The Falcon, RVIVR, World/Inferno release new songs

Phil Collins - September 8, 2014

The Falcon, RVIVR and The World/Inferno Friendship Society each released a new song in the last week. The Falcon's release marks their first new song since their 2006 full-length, "Unicornography." The song, "We Are the Bald," will appear on the Red Scare Industries 10-year anniversary compilation. "Red Scare Industries: 10 Years of Your Dumb Bullshit" will be released in full on September 9. The label will host a 10-year anniversary party at the Metro on October 25, featuring performances by The Falcon, The Lillingtons, The Methadones, Elway, Masked Intruder, Direct Hit! and more. Red Scare Industries was co-founded by The Falcon and The Lawrence Arms frontman Brendan Kelly. He is joined in The Falcon by Lawrence Arms bandmate Neil Hennessy and Alkaline Trio vet Dan Andriano. RVIVR debuted the first new track from their upcoming "Bicker and Breathe" EP. The song, "Goodbyes," is the RVIVR you know and love. Erica Freas handles vocal duties on the 2-and-a-half minute song. "Bicker and Breathe" is out on September 15 digitally and there is a vinyl release planned for November. It is the band's first release since last year's "The Beauty Between," which won Change the Rotation's best of 2013 bracket. Stream "Goodbyes" below:

Cabaret punks The World/Inferno Friendship Society unleashed the title track to their new full-length album "This Packed Funeral." The album is out November 11 on Alternative Tentacles Records. World/Inferno's annual Hallowmas show will be the record release party, although it falls more than a week before the official release date. Hallowmas is the biggest event on the World/Inferno calendar every year, so it is only fitting that it serves as a record release show this year. This is the group's sixth full-length album and first since original pianist Scott Hollingsworth rejoined the circus. Listen to "This Packed Funeral" below:
